A year ago today...

This time last year I was pregnant with Elijah. Yesterday was my due date. We had been to the doctor or hospital at least once a week for the last few months. We had just returned home this time last year from one such visit. No, I still wasn't in labor. {then tell these contractions to KNOCK IT OFF}

I weighed 167 lbs and was exploding with baby belly goodness. I was happy but tired. I was so anxious. I wanted Elijah here already, but at the same time wanted just a bit more time to myself. Dave worked at home for the last few weeks so that he would be close to me when I went into labor.

I spent the last few months laying in my bed, the bed we had put for me in Elijah's room or on the family room couch. I passed the time by hybrid scrapbooking, writing, reading, playing video games, watching movies, blogging, tweeting and enjoying my quiet time. If you were a follower of my pregnancy blog you might remember my banner those last few weeks. Dave made it for me:

I also spent weeks, days and hours 'nesting'. I was so in to it I even sat and sorted BUCKETS of the small legos by brick type and color when I ran out of baby stuff to do. Elijah's nursery had been complete. His clothes for the next YEAR were washed, sorted, and put away. I read Elijah every book that was on his shelf. Dave & I had just put together Elijah's crib a few days before so there was really nothing left to do... but wait.

Every day for the last month of my pregnancy I woke up to Elijah hiccuping. It was so cute. I sung to him. I talked to him. I read to him. I was in love with him even if I didn't know who 'him' really was yet. I was so excited to finally be able to hold him.

It didn't really occur to me that my whole life was about to change.

What a difference a year makes.

I am jealous of your pregnancy in some ways! Much like my 1st pregnancy though, my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I hated being pregnant and wasn't happy about anything to do with the prego belly nor being prego. It was sad really!

love this story all the pics, everything! Thanks for sharing and btw you were one beautiful prego woman!!
